Will Jay Cutler win a fifth Mr. Olympia in 2013?

Jay Cutler has officially announced that he will be returning to the Mr.Olympia competition in 2013 and the video of him signing the contract can be seen here Jay Cutler Signs 2013. Jay Cutler lost against Phill Heat in 2011 and is coming back with more vengeance than ever in the coming competition. The question is if Jay Cutler will take home his fifth trophy or will Phil Heath win his third in a row.

Phil claimed the title from his mentor and best friend Jay, a fierce battle that was predicted by fans when looking back at the 2010 competition. Then the two great athletes were neck in neck, but Jay successfully claiming the title. In 2011 Jay was larger than Phil, even to the naked eye. A reason to his defeat could have been a mild injury a couple of weeks before the competitions. Some critiques claim that this still would not have made a difference to the results. Looking back at the competition Jay has a monstrous width but Phil has a muscle definition and depth that surpasses Jay's impressive size. The shoulder to waist ratio is much better in Phil than Jay which accounts for a lot to the overall aesthetics and proportionality.

Jay lost to the living legend Ronnie Coleman four times in a row, before finally winning his first title in 2006. This means that Jay knows what it means to be the underdog and a position which he personally feels very confident in. He has also reclaimed his title Mr. Olympia as it was lost to Dexter Jackson in 2008. If there is any man for the job to reclaiming a title and working from a bottom centre it is Jay Cutler.

It has to be taken into account that Jay is on his 13th Mr. Olympia competition and will be coming in on his 14th at the age of 40. This puts Phil at a clear advantage at his 33 years of age and his glory days yet to come.  This should not completely rule out Jays chances of winning as Ronnie Coleman claimed his eighth title in 2005 at the age of 41.We also need to take into account that he took the 2012 season off and have had plenty of time to make any improvements.

So what will Jay have to do in order to claim his fifth title in 2013 and reclaim the torch from his student? Jay has the size advantage over Phil, but he will need to come in better shape than ever. The last preparation days for the competition are really important as he will need to squeeze out all the water from his body in order to have a muscle defection comparable with Phil.

The 2013 competition is concentrating around Cutler and Heath, but there is a forthcoming champion climbing his way to the top. I personally think that there is no athlete with so much passion and dedication as Kai Greene. His determination makes him a dangerous opponent for the title. So who will be claimed the best bodybuilder this year? It is impossible to say, but what I do know is that it is going to be hell of a show.
